C-1000: 1,000 mg non-corn based hypoallergenic ascorbic acid in capsules.
- According to Linus Pauling, animals that synthesize Vitamin C provide themselves with the human equivalent of 3,000 to 18,000 mg per day (Med Sci Res 1991; 19:398).
- Vitamin C requirements are increased by trauma (N Engl J Med 1986;314:892-902), and deficiency slows the healing process (J Am Podiatr Med Assoc 1994;84:456-62).
- Vitamin C supplements support immune defenses that promote resistance to prolonged infections (Scand J Infect Dis 1994;26:1-6).
- Vitamin C supplementation protects against free-radical damage from sources such as secondhand smoke (Free Radic Biol Med 2000;28:428-36).
- Vitamin C supplements protect LDL particles from oxidation (Am J Clin Nutr 1991;54:1113S-8S) and prevent damage to vascular walls (J Intern Med 2000;248:177-86).
