| Product description: |
CapriPlus: Caprylic and sorbic acids with garlic and oil of oregano for fungal control.
- Caprylic acid has long been known as an effective inhibitor of candida albicans in the human intestinal tract without undesirable side effects (Arch Intern Med 1954, pp. 55-60).
- Sorbic acid acid is another agent with anti-Candida activity (J Appl Bacteriol 1983;54:383-9) that has lowered intestinal yeast counts in animal studies (Poult Sci 1985;64:832-40).
- Oil of oregano has been identified as one of the most potent antifungal essential oils ever tested, superior to both tea tree oil and caprylic acid (Antimicrob Chemother 1998;42:591-5, J Applied Nutr 1995;47:96-102).
- Garlic is a potent antifungal agent and has been shown effectivefor both preventing and treating intestinal candidiasis in animal research (Br Vet J 1980;136:448-51).
- Garlic has a favorable effect on blood lipids (Ann Int Med 1993;119:599-605), blood pressure (J Hyperten 1994;12:463-8) and platelet function (Arzneim-Forsch Drug Res 1993;43:119-22), and has been associated with long-term protection of the carotid arteries (Atherosclerosis 1999;144:237-49).
- Garlic is known to inhibit the growth and proliferation of a wide array of microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi.
- A remarkable literature, dating back to the early decades of the 20th century, has accumulated on the ability of garlic to regulate and normalize blood pressure.
- Garlic’s beneficial effects on the vascular system may stem from its moderating actions as a diuretic and vasodilator.
