Product description:
E-400: Natural unesterified vitamin E for diverse clinical applications.
  • Vitamin E is the primary lipid-soluble antioxidant found in the body.
  • Vitamin E supplementation may elevate the protective, high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol (Isr J Med Sci 1987;23:869-72) in some individuals, and reduce the susceptibility of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol to oxidation (Arterioscler Thromb 1993;13:1779-89).
  • Vitamin E and other antioxidant micronutrients help maintain immunocompetence, especially in populations at risk such as the elderly. (JAMA 1997;277:1380-6).
  • Vitamin E supplementation has a favorable influence on insulin sensitivity in healthy subjects, Type II diabetics and the elderly. (Am J Clin Nutr 1994;59:1291-6, Am J Clin Nutr 1993;57:650-6).
  • Vitamin E supplements apparently have antiinflammatory or other properties useful for improving joint function (Z Orthop 1986;124:340-3, Z Rheumatol 1990;49:369-73).
  • Natural vitamin E may be as much as twice as bioavailable as synthetic E (Am J Clin Nutr 1994;60:397-402).
  • Unesterified vitamin E may be better absorbed than esterified E in some individuals (Am J Clin Nutr 1984;40:240-5.), and is suitable for external use, since it does not require digestion to restore its antioxidant activity.
